The Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Beijing, the Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research (SDC), the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China (DCCC), the Danish-Chinese Business Forum (DCBF), the Danish Export Association in China (DEA), and Danish Industry in China (DI), invites you to an insightful event presenting the biennial report on Danish companies in China.


Survey Findings Overview:

  • Investment Location: Despite a decline in attractiveness, China remains a top-two market for nearly half of the surveyed Danish companies.
  • Geopolitical Tensions: These are the main drivers for risk-mitigation strategies among companies.
  • Uncertainties: 41% of companies report facing political or economic uncertainties in China.
  • Competitiveness: Most respondents believe that Chinese competitiveness has increased in the past two years and will continue to do so.
  • R&D Activity: R&D activities predominantly driven by lower costs compared to other markets, with new product development being the most referenced R&D activity
  • Decision Independence: There is a higher degree of independence between headquarters and subsidiaries in making R&D decisions.


Keynote Speech:

Ambassador Thomas Østrup Møller will deliver a keynote address, offering a comprehensive analysis of the current state of Danish companies in China. He will discuss the key findings of the survey, highlighting the challenges and opportunities faced by Danish businesses operating in the Chinese market.


Panel Discussion:

A diverse panel of experts from various sectors will share their perspectives and experiences. The discussion will delve into the primary challenges, such as global geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainties, and explore the opportunities arising from increased Chinese competitiveness and the favorable R&D environment.
