About Lola Woetzel

Dr. Lola Woetzel is the Founder and Managing Partner of Global6, a global partnership specializing in the planning, financing and execution of urban development projects at scale. She is also a Visiting Professor of Global China Studies and Business at New York University in Shanghai, a Senior Partner Emerita of McKinsey & Company and a former Director of the McKinsey Global Institute. As one of McKinsey's leaders in developing its Asia practice, Dr. Woetzel opened the Shanghai location in 1995 and has been resident since then. She has also worked in the Hong Kong, Los Angeles, New York, and Zurich offices. Dr. Woetzel founded McKinsey's Cities Special Initiative. She has led research on China, Asia, and global economic and business trends and has extensive experience in developing strategies and organizations for both companies and government institutions. Industries of particular interest include energy, mining, housing and infrastructure. She speaks Chinese, English, Spanish and German.
