Market Strategist APAC at Saxo Bank
Redmond Wong is a Market Strategist based in Hong Kong. As a member of the Strategist Team, Wong is responsible for communicating Saxo’s global investment strategy, generating Hong Kong and mainland China-focused research, and delivering actionable insights across different asset classes and tradable instruments.
Prior to joining Saxo, Wong spent 30 years at some of the top investment banks, private banks, and hedge funds, including BNP Paribas Private Bank, JPMorgan Chase Private Bank, and Barclays Capital (Asia) Ltd, where he held roles across proprietary trading, institutional fixed income, derivative sales, portfolio management, and hedge fund management. He started as a bond trader and then covered Asian central banks, multinational banks, and other financial institutions in the Asian
Pacific region.
While working at BNP Paribas Private Bank in Hong Kong, he managed money for the bank’s ultra-high-net worth clients in North Asia and sat on the global investment committee as
a voting member to set investment strategies and portfolio grids.
In more recent years, he managed a multi-strategy and multi asset hedge fund. The crux of the fund’s strategies included long-short equities and global macro-trading.
Wong’s expertise enhances Saxo’s strategist team’s coverage in the region as Hong Kong and mainland China markets attract more attention and interest from investors worldwide
