Boxer Rebellion Walking Tour - Under Siege
May 27@ Tian'anmen West Subway Exit B
Hear the incredible story of the summer of 1900 when 4,000 foreigners and Chinese lived under siege from radical mystic rebels for 55 days. Follow us into the old Legation Quarter to hear about the bombing of the French embassy, the wavering Qing Court and how 200,000 bullets flew into the sky without finding a single target.
Beijing Postcards is a Danish started company devoted to Beijing history. We collect old photos and maps of the city, conduct archival research, lead talks and walks arcross town, make historically related exhibitions and apart from this we have also created a series of unique souvenirs using our collection of historical images of Beijing.
The event will end at the Beijing Postcards gallery space in Dashilan, where we will enjoy a cocktail included in the price provided by Capital Spirits and a display of old pictures and maps related to the topic.
Please register in advance for this event.
A confirmation letter and a map for the meeting place for the walk will be emailed to all registered guests prior to May 26.
