ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Tuuli Koivu is a passionate follower of the world economy. She never gets bored when analyzing the complex relationships between monetary policy, financial sector and economic growth. At Nordea, she concentrates on monitoring developments in the Euro area and the ECB monetary policy.
Tuuli Koivu holds a PhD in Economics and she has a long background studying both advanced and emerging economies at the Bank of Finland and the European Central Bank. She has a deep interest on the Chinese economy on which she did research for almost a decade. More recently, she used to work on the banking sector regulation and its impact on the real economy.

Tuuli Koivu is the Chief Economist at Nordea with a strong background in global economics. She has significant experience analyzing China’s economy, having worked as a China economist at the European Central Bank (ECB) and the Bank of Finland from 2003 to 2010. She also completed a Ph.D. on China’s monetary policy.
At Nordea, she focuses on the China, Euro area and ECB policy and has more recently studied banking regulation and its effects on the real economy. Her expertise spans both advanced and emerging economies, with a passion for understanding the complex connections between monetary policy, finance, and economic growth.
