Sankt Hans marks the summer solstice—a time when Danes gather to welcome the season of light, warmth, and togetherness. This year, we bring the tradition to the Silver Beach in Huizhou, where a full-day seaside program awaits.

From boat trips and water sports to relaxed beach activities, the celebration blends the spirit of Danish midsummer with the energy of a coastal summer escape. As the sun sets, we gather at Sandbar for a shared dinner, followed by the traditional bonfire by the beach—bringing everyone together to celebrate this beloved midsummer night in true Danish style.

Whether you're familiar with Danish culture or discovering it for the first time, you, your family, friends, and colleagues are warmly invited to take part in this special celebrating the arrival of summer's long, luminous days.

A Bit of History:

Sankt Hans has roots stretching back to Viking times, when people lit bonfires to ward off malevolent forces and visited sacred wells believed to have healing powers. While the well-visiting custom has faded, today's celebrations keep the spirit alive with music, food, speeches, and—of course—the glowing midsummer fire.
