Join us for an interesting evening with our speaker Mads Vesterager Nielsen, a Danish traveller and China specialist, who will talk about his recent incredible Motorbike cross-country adventures through China between May 3 and Sep 6 amid Covid-19!

"On the highland salt deserts of Qinghai at 4.500 meters altitude the vast and desolate character of the Chinese western regions becomes crystal clear. In the villages way up in rural parts of mountainous Guizhou province, the hospitality and generosity of the locals is boundless. Mads Vesterager Nielsen has just finished a four month motorbike trip driving some 18.484 km through 17 Chinese provinces. It has been a trip into the heart of a post-corona China, traveling along the Yellow River towards the Chinese western frontiers, down the Yangtze River, before following the route of The Long March back from South China to the revolutionary capital of Yan'an."

Under this talk Mads will present the route and the draw on hundreds of encounters with the local population at every twist and turn; from minority weddings on the Tibetan Plateau to encounters with Red Pilgrims on the Long March. Where did he stay during your trip? Did he encounter any difficulties from authorities during his trip? How is it to experience Chinese culture from the back of a motorbike?

Are you curious about Mads's motorbike adventures? Bring your questions and welcome to sign up for this event!
