The award gala will be held at CHARCOAL SH, located in a historic shipyard building along the Huangpu River that reflects Shanghai's industrial past. Once part of a bustling network of shipyards, this area played a key role in the city's transformation into a modern industrial hub.

The old shipyard buildings, now repurposed, blend historic charm with contemporary design, preserving the legacy of Shanghai's maritime heritage while serving as vibrant cultural spaces.

A Glimpse into the History of the Award

In 2007, the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China introduced the "Business Person of the Year" award to acknowledge outstanding contribution within our business community. In 2009, the "Entrepreneur of the Year" award was introduced as an additional category.

The Business Person of the Year Award Gala serves as a platform to honor the winners and finalists, fostering inspiration, and strengthening our business community. Each year, three outstanding candidates for each award category undergo thorough selection.

During the award ceremony, the recipients will be presented with the coveted "Vilhelm Award Statuette." This statuette bears the name of Vilhelm Meyer, the renowned and enterprising Danish entrepreneur who made Shanghai his home and workplace from 1900 to 1935.
